Autodesk Alias 2011 Test Drive - Majenta
In order to increase the understanding of the power of Alias and Showcase Majenta Solutions are offering free of charge test drive training days.
Agenda:
- Introduction to sketching tools in Alias
- Importing sketch blueprints into Alias, and also creating sketches (from scratch)
- Look at different brushes, pens, pencils etc
- Curve Snap tool – snapping the brush to a curve in order to create accurate lines
- Sketch Stamp – importing an image (of say leather, fabric etc.) and take a shot of the texture to apply it to a sketch
- Concept modelling
- Importing canvas planes/blueprints into Alias
- Aligning the blueprints to accurate dimensions
- Create primary curves. Use Curvature Plot tool to analyse and improve quality
- Aligning curves – using Align tool to generate good continuity between curves & surfaces
- Creating Surfaces – using Skin, Rail, Square and Freeform Blend
- More alias modelling
- Construction history in Alias
- Making tweaks and changes to existing surfaces
- Lattice Tool – changing proportions of the model, creating different design iterations
- Bend Rig – making an existing surface follow a curve, thereby achieving complex surface profiles
