Westfield Sportscars meets high demand with multifunctional Inventor

One of the UK’s leading hand-built sportscar manufacturers has decided to switch to Autodesk Inventor because of its versatility and Digital Prototyping capability. Julian Turner is the managing director of family-run Westfield Sportscars. He predicts that using Inventor for testing and analysis will help minimise lead times and shorten waiting lists for cars.

“We are under constant pressure to produce more cars,” says Turner. “Previously we would build 10 chassis prototypes, try them all, test them and then destroy them. Using Inventor to build a digital prototype to check for design clashes, and then for more complex analyses such as emissions testing, will encourage innovation and help to raise productivity, enabling us to cut the number of physical prototypes to just one or two.”

“Although we have only just started with Inventor, we foresee we will be using it extensively in the future to help move the business forward.”
